If we are looking at Antec Earthwatts EA-650 Platinum PSU, then its performance (ripple suppression and voltage regulation) is about average. But the concern is that this PSU uses some lower grade components, which means (long term) reliability is questionable.

It would be preferable to get an EVGA SuperNova series PSU (as mentioned), or maybe a Antec HCG series PSU, or maybe a SeaSonic PSU etc which use better quality components and usually provide better performance.

Well, it is Platinum rated and has got pretty good reviews. But I would probably go with a Supernova G2 650 instead, then you will get a 7 year waranty aswell. Antec only has 3 year according to their web site.

The Earthwatts EA-650 Green is a 80+ Bronze PSU, as are all of the Green units.

The EA-650 Platinum is a much newer, more expensive PSU.

Either way, I agree that the G2 is a better buy.

Thanks for the correction, but it didn´t say that it was the Green model so i just did a quick googling and the Platinum came up top, missed the Green one. Although that also seems to have got pretty god reviews, but i would still buy the Supernova.

Likewise, I didn't mean to imply that they were talking about the Green series. I just wanted to make sure that people were aware that we could be talking about either one.

Regarding the review ratings, about 10 years ago, the Earthwatts series was the only PSU line that I would consider for use in medium to high-end systems where I didn't need a ton of power. They are very reliable, but also pretty bare-bones by today's standards. They're also louder than more recent alternatives.
