Hi all, I have just built a new pc. I have opted for a new m2 hard drive a Samsung 960 EVO. I turned the machine on, not expecting it to work straight off and it turned itself on and off about 3 times then booted to Windows 10 with the user name Jimmy! I am a bit concerned that someone else has already purchased and installed windows then returned the drive, although the box was sealed! I'm very concerned about this copy of windows! The box was sealed. Is this usual for an m2 drive?

Solution
Never in my considerably long life have I seen a new drive coming with an OS on it. RMA the drive as it's obviously used already and not new. Right down serial number so you can be sure they don't just erase it. You could use Hard disk monitor or SSD-Z programs to see how long it was used and all relevant data about it.
Using someone else's OS can be dangerous.

Thanks for the reply. I did find it very strange. I was worried there could be something lurking in it so just formatted it and did a clean windows install. I guess it's too late to return it. Aside from windows 10, there didn't seem to be any other files on it.
