Opinion: is the xfx radeon 6870 1gb DDR5 worth buying for an entry level rig? Im thinking of buying it for about 23€ (25$) for my brother, just to play casual games (Cs.go, rocket league). What are your opinions? Is it worth for the price and will it play the games? Any help is welcome

My experience is that for 1080p gaming you want 2gb DDR5 vram on the card. I've seen even some esports games use over 1gb at 1080p if you set more than low settings. If your brother is willing to sacrifice some framerate for 1080p, then the 1gb 6870 is a great deal. If your brother is willing to play at 720p or 900p, then it's a great deal. Only if he wants 1080p/high settings/60fps is the 6780 going to come up a bit short. I assume the CPU and ram and power supply are up to the task.

edit: If it were my choice, I'd go for it. Per dollar spent, that's an excellent deal. I'd be willing to tweak the game settings to use this card.
