Need to plug in speakers and headset but can't seem to get it to work

Generally i would plugin the headphones and mic to the front panel connector of your case and then the z313 to the back of the motherboard. It's generally the green colored connector in the back.
Not sure what you are trying to accomplish, but you should at least be able to then use the Control panel -> sound , on windows to select through which the sound is actually played from.
