There are many brands but the chipset has to be AMD X370 or B350. As for cooler you will need liquid cooler such as Corsair H100i v2 or Cooler Master MasterLiquid Pro 280.

As what @theonerm2 said you might not be able to achieve that, even for example Jayz (youtuber) was OCing the 1800x to 4k but then lowered it to 3.9k because at speed 4k it was not stable.

I overclocked mine a piece of cake straight out of the box to 3.7ghz on stock volts, I then raised the voltage and went to 3.9, took the voltage upto 1.360v in total.

Trying for 4ghz just needed so much more voltage and generated so much more heat, it wasn't worth it for an extra 100mhz, most of the time overheating VRMs were crashing the computer, complete power off.

Running it on a Gigabyte AB350m Gaming 3 with 16gb G.skill Trident Z 3000mhz, Geekbench 3 score 3942 single core and 31537 multicore, at that's with my RAM at 2133mhz instead of 3000mhz.

Ive built a custom water loop, 2 x 240mm Rad's, Noctua Fans, EK-XRES D5 Pump and Res, and EK Supremacy Plexi and Nickle Block, CPU is 19oC idle, 25oC light Tasks, 59oC Fully Loaded (stress testing)

VRM's were the heat problem, not the CPU, ive since added an Antec Spotcool to the system to help keep VRM,s cool, not tried pushing any further with the overclock, maybe sometime in the future, run's plenty quick enough now.

I personally would use a Deepcool Captain ex 120mm. That being said I have my little cpu oc'd to 5 GHz and it never gets toasty the highest temps I hit are 65 Degrees Celsius.

Do note I am using a FX series.

Also I think I hit the lottery with this little cpu.

What temps are you getting on that?

Running Prime95 I'm hitting about 63-64C. And since I have the 1700 I don't need to offset the temps, this is the straight HWmonitor temps.
