Hi!

So my pc started crashing while playing intensive games a while ago (especially arma III), at the time it had an overclock to 4.2 GHz and was perfectly stable when running benchmarks. After a few crashes i tried going back to factory settings and the problem was aparrently solved for about two weeks, however it started happening again a few days ago, mostly while playing but it also gave me some random crashes on desktop or while browsing internet.

I have huge thermal margins both on the gpu and cpu so i discard temperature issues.
Tried reinstalling Windows and all the drivers but it didnt solve the problem either.
Also tried alternating RAM sticks, still crashes.
Pluged the pc directly to the Wall mount (no stabilizer)... crashes.

Its pretty annoying since i get a message of the video drivers recovering from a problem, this can happen a few times with me being able to continue using the pc and sometimes it restarts with no bsod.

It also happends of the pc not booting (it freezes on bios) until i disconnect the mouse and the mouse going crazy while using the computer (disconnecting and reconnecting)

Pc config:

-OS: Windows 10 64 bits
-CPU: AMD APU A-10 5800k (with cooler master hyper 212 EVO)
-GPU: Asus r7-260x OC 2gb drr5
-Motherboard: ASRock FM2A55M-HD+
-PSU: Thermaltake Smart 550W 80 plus bronze
-Memory: 2x8Gb Adata
Mouse and Keyboard generic.

I presume it may be may the PSU? since it mostly happens while doing intensive stuff.

Here are my voltage readings from bios:

+12= +11.774
+5= +5.016
+3.3= +3.360

Thank you in advance and sorry for any misspelling or something not being clear, english is not my native language.

Cheers!

Hi Hamper,

I will try a new one as soon as posible to see if that solves the problem, any model you would recommend for my build?

Get something from a reputable dealer such as Corsair, EVGA or Coolermaster that's about 600 watt so you have some headroom.

One last question, what are your thoughts about this PSU: Seasonic M12ii 620W Evo. I can pick one in my country (Argentina) for about USD 147.

Thank you very much for your help guys! I went for the Seasonic (sadly you can get really few and greatly overpriced models here). So far so good, hope it stays that way.
