I overclocked mine from 3.5ghz to 4 ghz. It is smooth BUT when I am using intel burn test and prime95, my pc crashes. So, I downgraded mine to 3.9 ghz and the tests doesn't fail. Why does it fail when it is in 4ghz? Also, temperatures aren't the issue since I have a liquid cooling installed, bascially 40celcius is the max peak of my temperature even when the intel burn test is open. We have the same processor and motherboard in this video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zPpKfx7g3c4) but he successfully did it without problems. Do you think that my power supply is the culprit here? Also, do you think I should stay at 4ghz and just ignore the warning that prime95 and Intelburntest gave me? Thanks in advance!

Every chip is different. I overclocked my FX 6300 to 4.2GHz today, and had to bump my voltage to 1.41V. Sometimes you win the silicon lottery, sometimes you end up with what I got. The important thing is having a good motherboard and cooler combo. With the motherboard you have, I wouldn't do any overclocking on it because I'd be scared to overheat the VRMs. Like CountMike said, 4.0 shouldn't be a problem, considering the FX 6300 has a turbo boost up to 4.1GHz. Myself, I'd buy a motherboard better suited for overclocking, which you can pick up relatively inexpensively. Something like this should do the trick: https://www.amazon.com/Gigabyte-DDR3-Micro-Motherboard-GA-78LMT-USB3/dp/B009FC3YJ8
Use AMD Overdrive to test, whatever test it passes is good enough for any other use. Other tings to consider, MB (not to good for OC but 4.0 shouldn't be a problem), CPU cooler ( Standard, stock cooler is not good for more), CP Vltage needs to be probably higher, it may need over 1.4v.

how to adjust cpu voltage? I don't know how and where and It was said in the video that there's no need to add a voltage when I will just overclock to 4ghz
