Hi there,

I'm on the last step of finalizing my build, I made the purchase already for everything but the PSU and the case and my system so far is;

CPU:: Intel i5-7600k
Mobo: Gigabyte Z270 Gaming K3
GPU:: ASUS GTX 1060 Dual 6GB
RAM: Corsair Vengeance 2x8GB 3000MHz
HDD: Seagate Barracuda 1TB 7200rpm
CPU Cooler: Deepcool GAMMAXX 400
Plus the old Sandisk SSD that I already have.

As you can understand, I'm on a tight budget and looking the get value for every cent. I'll be gaming at 1080p and will OC my 7600k up to whatever highest stable I can get to, aiming for 4.8 GHz. I'm wondering if my gammaxx 400 plus a good budget airflow case and Tier 2 PSU would allow that. Even if it doesn't I think that's the best I got with the remaining of my bugdet.

For this purpose and cases being shipped with absurd shipping + import fees on Amazon, I'll get the case and the PSU from my retailer here. Prices for PSUs are very close to Amazon, with a standard fee on top for everything.

What I have on my mind for PSU:

■Seasonic S12II 620 BRONZE

OR one from the $70-80 range;

■SeaSonic G Series 550-Watt
■XFX ATX12V/EPS12V 550W
■EVGA SuperNOVA 750 B2 (which is not Tier 1?)

As for case, I'm gonna have to go with budget level one, hoping for best airflow possible and decent cable management. These are my possible options, with USD equivalent prices:

■AeroCool GT Advance ($45)
■AeroCool Strike-X One Advance ($55)
■AeroCool GT-A ($71)
■Corsair Carbide 100R ($60)
■Corsair Carbide SPEC-01 ($62)

So my questions: Does any combination of the above allow me to have stable 4.8 GHz? I'm also not sure how much a modular PSU would increase airflow and performace. Should I go for a modular, or is that just unnecessary with already subpar cases?

Thanks in advance!

Is the difference between a Seasonic 12G Series 550 and Seasonic S12II 620 is huge? What about the G Series 550w modular? It is cheaper as well. I

The NZXT s340, it's over my budget but I might just go for it, cause it's really neat. Going between the s340 and the AeroCool Aero 800, which comes with 4 stock fans and is $20 cheaper.

The review has 2 stock fans but my retailer has 4 installed.

Thanks for the much appreciated answers guys.

Any ideas on the case situation?. While the s340 is great, if I decide to buy it, I'll probably have to go with the S12II 620W instead of a potential Seasonic 550G. Is the Aero 800 with 4 fans not worth for its price? Or are there any other good airflow case recommendations?

Think I'm getting the G series 550 and putting it into an Aero 800. These are the last drops of my budget and I go way over if I get the G series 550 plus the s340. While it is a great case I feel like the value of 4 installed fans and the price of $70 (which is lower than Amazon price, with 2 fans) cannot be understated. Especially since you guys were insisting on SEA-S12II-620W was an inferior choice compared to the 550G.

Do you think my goal of stable 4.8 GHz is achievable with this build?

Yeah I have access to most of the cases on the market but they are mostly stupidly overpriced compared to Amazon / Newegg.

Corsair 270R - $96

Zalman Z11 Neo - $86

That's why I'm hyped about the Aero 800, it has a lower price tag and I really like it as well.

K, it looks like I'm getting the S340 afterall, coupled with the Seasonic 550G. I am planning on getting 2 of Arctic F14 PWM fans for intake at some point, they are cheap as hell and from what I read are pretty good. Do you think buying 2 intake fans is overkill? I'll get 2 of them for around $14.

I've had some people trying to convince me to get rid of the Gammaxx 400 for Cryorig H7 and some other coolers, and now I'm worried I might not get to high speeds with the 7600k. I know the Gammaxx 400 has incredible value for its price, but would the actual performance hinder my overclocking too much?. H7 beats it slightly, by 1-2 degrees if I'm not mistaken.

I'm definitely not getting liquid cooling for now, that will prolly happen in several months time. In the meantime, would the setup of S304 with 2 140mm intakes and the Gammaxx 400 provide adequate cooling for 4.8-5GHz?

Overclocking depends on the chip so yours might be able to go pretty high on stock voltage settings,who knows. In that case could the GammaXX 400 be fine.These chips seems to get pretty hot though.

Thought about of just setting the max turbo for all cores and leave it at that for a while,4.2ghz isn't something to snees at and will be more than fine for things you might do with it. Upping the vcore,and so getting it hotter,will maybe get you another 300/400mhz which wouldn't do much in most tasks.

From what i read is serious overclocking better on a liquid cooler anyway.
