Looking at Nighthawk X10 but nobody actually knows if it will send a signal from one office (through outside wall) and uphill about 25 feet over 400 feet and through another outside wall. Nobody has any other way of doing it. There could be an Ethernet cable or a pt to pt phone wire. But so far no solution... suggestions?

Solution
If you want this to work reliably and over time in an office setting, use equipment specifically made for the situation rather than try to cobble something together yourself. Ubiquiti and Engenius both make bridging equipment that tie the radio and antennas in one weather protected device.

All radios will need line of site to be effective.
