I change my cpu voltage to 2.000 from 1.600 the default. The bios says 2.000 maximum 0.600 minimum so i tried to max it. But after i change it to 2.000 the temp goes up and my PC shutdown. And now its not working. My cpu is i5-7500 with a stock fan.

Did my CPU fried?
Help...

Solution
2.000 is way too much voltage for a Kaby Lake CPU core. Even 1.6 is way too much, I'd guess 1.6 is the maximum your board allows unless you short a CPU_OV jumper to allow for an extreme overclock. It is very possible that you fried your CPU by giving it too much voltage. Reset your CMOS by unplugging your system and pulling the CMOS battery and pray it boots up again.

Supernova's answer is spot on. I would only add that you should really read up on the risks of overclocking. What you did is almost guaranteed to destroy a CPU.

The maximum voltage that you can apply to those CPUs without heavy modification (Delidding) is 1.3 volts or so. If you use 1.3 volts, you're shortening the life of your CPU significantly.
