I've got 16GB of HyperX FURY DDR4 RAM installed in my PC, I chose this RAM when I ordered my PC from Alienware last September. When I chose the RAM on the Alienware site it said it runs at 2400MHz but I recently discovered It was only running at 2133MHz, after going into the BIOS I managed to change it to 2400MHz. I was looking at getting another 16GB of the same RAM on Amazon and it says in the description that this RAM auto overclocks to 2666MHz? Does anyone know how or if I could overclock mine to 2666MHz?

Regards, Dan.

Okay thanks for your help. Just a quick question do you know what core overclocking level means in the BIOS? Is that something to do with the CPU?

You may be able to get your 2400 RAM to run at 2666, assuming you have a Z-series mobo. I was with my previous 2400 MHz kit anyway. Only way to know for sure is to try it, although it's unlikely you'd ever notice a difference in performance between the two.

Are you able to post a picture of what you're referring to in the BIOS?

I don't really want to mess around with that stuff unless it would benefit me that much, i had to enable the overclocking feature to find XMP memory which changed the memory speed from 2133 to 2400.

It's hard to say, pre-built PCs tend to have different BIOS options than if you had built your own. If you want to find out what it does I think your options are either turn it on and see what happens or email Dell and ask them. Or try and find a forum/thread with someone else who has the same Alienware who has tried out that setting.

I have a i7-6700k, can this CPU be overclocked? It's currently running at 4.00GHz.

It does say on the description of my order that it can be Overclocked up to 4.4GHz so I think it should support it.

hi! i have hyperx 4x8 gb 2666 mhz ram, and i was able to clock to 3131 mhz! im not joking, these hyperx rams are pretty good, it has been running at 3131 mhz for 10 months! stock voltage 1,2 v, at 3131 mhz it need only 1,345 v!

oc depend from your motherboard and your component!
