Hi fellows,

Thanks for paying attention to the thread.
Recently, since a few days me and all the other users in the house, cannot access certain (multiple) sites and services, like eBay (both UK and US), PS Network (can get onto playstation.com but not to the store and nothing on the PS4 itself), HMRC login (also can access main HMRC site but login says "Sorry, your request cannot be completed", and a couple of other sites that just say "Access Denied You don't have permission to access "<WEBSITE ADDRESS>" on this server."
It's worth mentioning that it's happening on multiple devices, browsers etc.
I have asked the Internet provider and they are saying that those sites must have blocked the IP address of our router, but i found that unlikely that they stopped working for us at the exact same time. Unfortunately it's all the provider is saying.
Could it be that the router has certain ports closed and doesn't allow us to access it?
Any other ideas or solutions?

Thanks for your time and please help.

Solution
Change your DNS to 8.8.8.8. Start in your PC because it is easier but you can put it in your router also.

You may also try to get your IP changed, there is a small chance another customer did something bad and got some of you ISP ip addresses blocked. It may or may not be possible to change your ip...which also makes it unlikely you got a bad ip from someone else. In any case try to leave your router/modem off overnight and see if the IP changes.

There are some VPN services that offer free trials but even if you ended up having to pay for a month most are well under $10. VPN would eliminate your ISP completely. If it works you can load vpn on many routers.

Since it is multipe devices with different OSs this is something at router level or above.

Do as bill001g suggested and try putting 8.8.8.8 for DNS of router to bypass your ISP DNS server. Use 8.8.4.4 as secondary.

If that does not work then your IP provided by your internet is blacklisted for some reason.
Most ISPs provide a dynamic (changing one) unless you specifically pay for static (constant) IP address so you can get your ISP to issue you a new IP address.
This may take 2-3 calls to the right tech support guy that A) comprehends what you are asking, and B) will do it for it you.

There could be some issue in the router itself which can be tested (if you have seperate modem and router not a combo) by unplugging router, plug PC direct into modem, restart modem and test connection to blocked sites.
