Hey guys,

I have just got into building my first computer and for some reason it won't power on. I've noticed that when I turn the switch to power on the PSU, there doesn't seem to be any lights on the motherboard that turn on. None of the fans spin and there doesn't seem to be any sign on power.

My first solution was to test if I had a faulty power supply. I disconnected the 24 pin power connector and inserted a metal paper clip in the green and black ports and turned the PSU on. The PSU fans begin to spin, so I don't think its a faulty PSU.

Next, I had checked if maybe my power switches were faulty. I switched the reset and power switch to see if it would work but to no avail. I tried using a screw driver and touching the pins on the Power switch to see if it would turn on. Sadly the I had the same result.

I'm not sure what to do next. I will try to maybe start it bare bones without the case with just the CPU, PSU, 1 ram stick, and cooler to see if it will power on. I might try to reset the CMOS and remove and insert the battery. Other than that I don't have any other ideas. What would you guys suggest?

Yeah that was what I was planning on doing. I'll see how it turns out. What if nothing powers on. Would my motherboard be the problem?

Did you ever resolve this issue? I am having the same problem now. Two separate builds. Exact same no power issue.
