Hello, I'm building a new PC motly for 3D rendering in 3D MAX and postproduction in Photoshop, sometimes I´ll also be using other 3D software like MAYA, SKETCHUP, REVIT and AutoCAD.

My budget is around 2k - 2.5k. Please let me know if the sistem I'm proposing is compatible and if I could do better with that budget. All opinoins will be highly appreciated !

GTX1080Ti will outperform GTX1080 no matter what card you get. If you can spend more for 1800X then it is fine go for it.

Go for GTX1080Ti it will perform better for your work.

I see little value in such an expensive motherboard. That GTX 1080 is way overpriced. That is near GTX 1080ti territory. This will save you quite a bit of money, without a hit to performance. Added an SSD, to use as a scratch disk, as well. If you are not going to be gaming at all, you may want to consider a Quadro.

Thanks for your quick response, I'm now considering one of this 2 crads:

- ZOTAC NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 AMP! Extreme Edition
- Gigabyte NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 Ti Founders Edition

What do you think about those cards for some GPU rendering previews and final render using CPU. Is there a big difference if I go for a Nvidia quadro like :Nvidia Quadro M4000, 8GB GDDR5

Thanks for the add of the ssd scratch disk I didn't think of that but would be really useful.

Thanks for your quick response, I searched a little more about the GTX 1080 Ti and I think I'll change to use that GPU and also find this one: ZOTAC NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 AMP! Extreme Edition, what do you think ?

The build you suggest looks really powerfull but I'm a little scare about using AMD Ryzen 7 1700 since I saw some people are having trouble with overclicking, in case I decide to use AMD Ryzen do you think it worth the extra money and go for the AMD Ryzen 7 1800x ?
