Athlon x4 860k not working to full capacity

So PC idiot here ive been running an athlon 860k for over a year now recently checked the resource management screen and found my CPU is only showing to be using 2 cores? Yet i thought the Athlon 860k was a Quadcore processor, can anyone comment or give any advice or am i simply misunderstanding

I would guess that perhaps 2 of the cores are disabled in bios. It is a genuine quad core it seems so should be showing 4 cores in Task Manager.

That could be normal. If you look in task manager it will show 2 cores and 4 logical cores (which is accurate, the Athlon isn't a full quad core in some workloads).

What windows version do you have? This will only show in windows 8/8.1 and 10.

I run windows 10 64 bit if that's any help, also it is showing 4 logical processors as well as 2 cores

Yep. You don't have any issues. Windows 10 is detecting that CPU as it should.

Load up the CPU, and if you see all 4 threads load up in Task Manager, your entire CPU is able to be used by windows 10.
