Decided to upgrade my RAM from 8GB to 16. I currently have this kit and I purchased this kit . The only difference I saw was the color, yet when I install the new RAM, no HDMI signal is being received on my monitor, my keyboard and Mouse don't power on and I am unable to do anything. I can use either my old kit, or my new one, but not together. When I purchased the kit the only difference I noticed was the color. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Mixing kits even of the same spec can be problematic BazookaSamurai :(

It is in the manufacturing process where slight variations in Latency can occur. This is the reason why manufacturers bin their modules in kits to ensure conformity.
You can try using your Bios to change Primary Timings and Dram voltage however there is no guarantee and it can be quite frustrating getting them to work together.
My advice if you can't make them work is to return the recent kit and get a single 16GB kit and keep the others for spares.

Return it and say you purchased the wrong kit by mistake. ^^^^ Get a 16gb (2x8) and keep your old dimms as a backup or sell them.

As a side note, I got a 2x8 kit to work with a 2x4 kit recently. That's how i'm running 24gb ram.

Thanks for the reply. I'll just buy a 16 GB kit.
