So I am in the process of choosing a laptop for college and do not know if I want to buy a laptop with a gtx 1060 or gtx 1070. I am planning on using it for mild gaming, 3D part modeling (multi-part assemblies with Autodesk inventor), and most likely a second monitor. I plan on using the laptop for at least the next 4 years. So would the extra $300 or so be worth the upgrade over the 1060? I am not looking for any specific laptop (Ill choose what I like) but I just want to know what graphics card I should get. Thanks!

*note: I am planning on buying a 1080 or 1440 screen, no 4k.

Solution
1080p screen, 1060 is fine ( you can currently max out 1080p with it )
1440p screen, 1070 is preferred ( you can currently max out 1440p with it )
For gaming anyway.

New games are bound to be more demanding, but in general you should be fine with either one for a next couple of years.
In addition to the above the 1070 has more cuda cores which can be utilized with Autodesk inventor.
