Video problems with new video card

Hey guys, I bought a new video card (GTX 1070) and it was working fine until now. I bought a new thermal paste for my processor, so I turned my pc off to change it and when I turned it back on, the screen just keeps turning off for like 1-2s and the colors are all messed up. What could this be ? It literally started happening after I just restarted the pc to change my thermal paste.

Note: My pc turns on fine without the video card.

Are you sure everything is plugged in correctly. I recent moved and when I set my PC back up the screen kept cycling off and on every few minutes. Turned out the video cable was loose, plugged it securely back in and the problem was fixed.

I am pretty sure everything was plugged in correctly. The screens keeps cycling off and on frequently, like every 3s it turns for a 1 second or 2. Also, the color scheme is all messed up.
