two different ram sticks with different capacity and brand mix ok?

hi, i have two different ram sticks for an asus u56e. is it okay if i use them both? i have read online that different brands doesn't matter but one is 4 GB and the other is 2 GB. is it okay if i use them both?

also, one of them say 1RxB and the other says 2RxB

You apparently already have the RAM.
Power off.
Plug it in.
Power up, see if it works.
