So I'm a noob, and I'm in the process of building a cheap-arse PC for light gaming and music production.
I've brought an ASUS GTX 560 ti (it was cheap, please don't just tell me to get another card) and I'm looking into getting a motherboard that supports SLI, so that I can add more increase performance
I don't have a PSU yet, but I've noticed that the 560 ti has two 6pin power connectors. So, do I need a PSU advertised with 2 6-pin pcie connectors to run this card (and therefore 4 for sli) or am I missing something - I figured that this seems excessive as most power supplies I've seen have 2 6pin connectors at most...
Thanks.
EDIT: would a molex to 6pin adaptor work and be safe?

Solution
Yes, you need a good quality 650W (min) PSU with 4 x 6-pin connectors. Most good quality 650W PSUs will have that. There are many.
Don't use the Molex tp PCI adapters for that kind of load.

Thanks. Any recommendations?

Yes. But you better list your max budget for one. Decent quality 650W PSUs capable of handling dual 210W cards aren't cheap.

I actually found a 650w Cooler Master for around £60 with enough 6pins. But at that point I might as well save a little more and get a better card. I think I'll stick with the single card for now. Thanks.
