More RAM or Faster RAM?

I've been looking everywhere on the internet but I can't seem to find the answer to my specific problem. I'm thinking about building a new PC with an i5 7500 and a GTX 1060 3 GB or something around those specs. One thing I cannot decide on is to go with 8 GB of RAM at around 2400 Mhz or higher, or go with 16 GB of RAM at 2133 Mhz. I plan to game and use it for school work, maybe a little video and picture editing but not much. It is a fairly budget system so I am trying to maximize performance while still remaining relatively cheap. Thanks!

No problem. Make sure your motherboard supports up to DDR4-2666 before buying (most do)
The best ram speed in my opinion is DDR4 2400. The price difference between 16GB of that and 16GB of DDR4 2133 will be very little. And 8GB RAM of lets say DDR4 4266 will be very fast, but 16GB will be better. Also many motherboards aren't compatible with ram over 3000 mhz.

Happened to stumble upon a 16 GB DDR4 2666 kit while looking through PC Part Picker thats actually cheaper than a lot of the other 16 GB DDR4 2133 and some of the 8 GB DDR4 3000 kits, though 3000 Mhz is hard to take full advantage of so I am probably going to go with that. Good mix of speed and capacity. Thanks though!
