I only really want to game at 1080p, don't really care about ultra settings. My ideal build would be a pentium g4560 and a 1050 ti/rx 470 and 8gb of ram but i'm worried that it won't last that long and ill have to upgrade very soon. Part of me thinks Is should go with a ryzen 5 (when it comes out) an rx 470, 16gb of ram and an ssd, but that seems like overkill. what should I do?

Solution
Ryzen 3 would be a better choice over the G4560, as its newer and probably more powerful. Although since we don't know the price its hard to tell which woud be the better option.
Ryzen 5 and an RX 470 would be great for 1080p.
Here is my current budget recommendation:

I'm only gaming, is it worth going for a ryzen 5? Should I get a ryzen 3 or perhaps the g4560? I actually think that would be a better idea.

The G4560 is your best bet if you're on a budget. It's near i3 performance for much less cost. If you're on a budget then you don't worry about 'future proofing' since one of the big sacrifices you make on a budget is not being able to buy extra power.

You will run out of GPU power sooner than CPU power in gaming. So, if it was me, I'd get the G4560 and RX 470 rather than a Ryzen 5 and 1050 Ti. The extra performance of the 470 will keep you gaming at 1080p far longer than a quad core CPU.
