My motherboard - gigabyte ab350 gaming 3 rev 1.0
Bios- F5
Cpu cooler - cooler masterliquid lite 120
Power supply- corsair vs 550
Ram-gskill ripjaws 5 2400mhz 16gb kit.
I am getting 70-80°C itself in bios mode and 40-50°C idle temps in windows 10 under high performance power plan with xfr(auto overclocking) enabled. The cpu core voltages remain 1.2-1.43V continuously. When I changed power plan to 'balanced' idle temps are 35-50°C and core voltages are 0.8225-1.43V.
Am i the only one who'z getting such high temps or is there anyone like me too.During Prime95 torture test the cpu goes to 70-80°C within just few seconds. All the temperatures stated above by me are noted after subtracting the 20 degrees offset as declared by amd community.I Q-flashed my bios but still no change in temps.During load temps cross 70°C easily.I have applied cooler master mastergel thermal compound in right quantity yet facing the issue.Even the cpu cooler's fans also spin at maximum speeds even at idle temps.Should I RMA my chip ?someone please help me out.

Hello!

This is a basic issue that you shouldn't be worried about, as a lot of people have been experiencing the same thing. All 95w chips that AMD has pushed out recently, this being the 1700x and 1800x have been reporting 20 °C more than their true cpu package temperature. This is due to XFR overclocking single cores, and fine tuning the voltages individually.

Hope I was of some help!
:)

I stay in a tropical country and as it is summer now the weather temperatures in my city ranges from 38-40 degrees celsius everyday. The idle temperatures which i have reported earlier are ryzen master temps which are noted down without subtracting 20 degrees offset as declared by amd.My cabinet has 4 intake fans and one 120mm exhaust aio radiator and even i have applied a high end thermal paster(mastergel maker nano) but still i am getting idle temperatures of 60-70 degrees in ryzen master utility.I donno if i got a defective cpu or are those high temps because of my high ambient temperature.Im totally confused.

My cpu shows high temps in ryzen master utility but when i touch the radiator it doesn't feel hot.I have plugged the cpu headers correctly i.e cpu pump fan header into cpu_opt and radiator fan header into cpu_fan and have set the pump fan to full speed.Even i have replaced old thermal paste which has 2 W/m-K thermal conductivity to new high end one i.e Cooler master gel maker nano 11 W/m-K.I live in a tropical country and summers are too hot here the weather temperature today is 38 degrees celsius in my city so expect the ambient temp to be around 25-30 degrees.I have 4 intake case fans in cabinet and 1 exhaust aio radiator fan spinning at 2100 rpm most of the time.Despite of all this i am getting high idle temps which is around 60-70 degrees in ryzen master utility.Someone please tell me my cpu is normal

Update: I have flashed my bios from F5 to F6 on gigabyte board. Now i see huge difference in cpu temps in AIDA64.My idle temps are now 25-40 degrees celsius depending on windows power plan and also my ambient temperature is around 30-35 degrees at my place. So in winter i notice even lower idle temps.Ryzen master utility would report correct temperatures for cpu after updating to version 1.0.1.The version is yet to release on 11th april.
