AMD Ryzen 1700 vs Intel i7 7700 vs Intel i7 6700

Hello, I was checking some options and came across a few CPUs but couldn't stick my mind as of which one to buy among them. Finally settled my mind between AMD Ryzen 1700 and an Intel i7 7700. I want to buy a non k edition as i wont be overclocking. I am a content creator and have a youtube channel. I edit videos quite regularly and i also am a gamer. Which CPU will be suitable for me? I currently own an i7 6700 (non K) but will give it to a friend of mine in a few days. Please guide me through. I am more interested in buying the new ryzen.
Current GFX card is Gtx 1060 6GB and 16 gigs 2400Mhz RAM.

Its honestly a no brainer for your use case. You should see substantial gains in content creation with the 1700 or 1700X. I would OC either or to 4.0 which is pretty straight forward. People are doing it easily even with the 1700 that comes with the stock cooler from AMD for $330, which is ridiculous. Even at 3.9 the 1700 or 1700X will scream when multi-threading and still do great gaming.

There's talk that the 1700 & 1700X are actually the same chip. There's questions around the binning process at AMD and there actually being any diff between the 1700, 1700X and 1800X right now as they all only seem to be able to OC to 4.0 consistently. Some folks are reaching 4.1 but at the expense of high voltages and not all chips are stable...

the Ryzen 1700x is getting better optimized now, but ryzen specific ram is necessary to oc to the max.
The 7700k runs hot. The 6700k is a proven performer all round.
You will likely not see much of a perf increase from the 6700 non k.

If you do a whole lot of content creation, the next gen x299 intel enthusiast platform will be coming out this summer if you can wait. I think you'll benefit from more cores and hyperthreading. If you can't wait, Ryzen 8 core is the way to go.

Will I get similar fps with the ryzen 1700 as i get with the i7 6700 (non k) now? As i have seen in reviews that ryzen is not a performer in case of games but people are complaining that the reviewers are manipulating us. So i will be deeply benefited with any unbiased and hands on experience.

Just beware of compatibility on the AM4 platform. Not a lot of liquid coolers out there at the moment. The few that will work require you to seek out an additional bracket from the manufacturer after you order your cooler. Memory clocking is odd to say the least. If you're going to run 2 DIMMs you can reach over 2400. 4 DIMMs gets interesting.

Still a lot to come for this platform. Hopefully BIOS updates will open up some more OC capability and better memory clocking capabilities but the latter may just end up being a limitation of the CPU (not a huge deal real world anyway). Regardless, consider that buying a 1700/1700X is basically the same from a processing perspective as buying a $1050 6900K...

I am a amateur on a h100i water cooler and my 7700k is at 5.0ghz

Is go with 7700k simply Intel has never let me down where AMD has

I'm pretty loyal person

You get what's best for your money, loyalty doesn't count.

If you're buying RYZEN now, you've probably did the right research and you can expect decent performance in gaming and phenominal performance in content creation/editing/rendering.

If you bought an FX-8350 years ago instead of an Intel i5 or i7 and you expected the best gaming performance, you didn't do the right research. You can't be let down by something that already proves to be great. AMD FX processors basically never proved that in the first place you know.

That's as simple as you can put it.
