New PC build, no video, possibly bad CPU?

Hi everyone,

I am building a new computer, and I am having trouble getting it to POST and output video. I have gone through all steps of the stickied checklist to no avail. The only thing I have not tried replacing is the CPU.

I am breadboarding with just the following parts:

CPU: Intel i5-7500 with stock fan
MOBO: MSI H110M PRO-VD and Gigabyte H110M-A
RAM: 2 x Crucial 4GB DDR4-2113
+ Case speaker

I am working a Corsair 500W power supply which works perfectly on another PC.

On my MSI mobo, I get the following:
1. Boot without RAM -- get long beeps
2. Boot after properly seating 1 stick of RAM in either slot: no beeps, no screen

On my Gigabyte mobo, I get the following:
1. Boot without RAM -- get long beeps
2. Boot after properly seating 1 stick of RAM in either slot: no beeps, no video, reboots every 10 seconds

The CPU fan is working fine.

- I have tried replacing the RAM. It's unlikely that all 4 sticks failed.
- Unlikely that both mobos are failing. The MSI model was marked as "tested" by Microcenter
- The power supply works well on another PC

Is it possible that the CPU is the problem? It seems unlikely, but this is the only thing I have not replaced.

Thank you so much in advance.

Solution
The problem is BIOS version. Both those motherboards need BIOS upgrade before they can run 7500 CPU. You need SkyLake CPU to do that yourself.
