so Should i install the windows do the partition and then use your software that you are telling me

No. The OS that is to be installed can overwrite the data you are trying to retrieve. https://www.piriform.com/recuva can retrieve your data. The keyword there is can. Some of your data may have already been overwritten. You can try a deep scan after a regular scan to see if it is more successful. It allows you to look for a specific type of file such as pictures or videos and it allows you to select the drive(s) it needs to scan.

That drive needs to be connected to another PC(thanks to Capt. Obvious :D) that already has an OS on it. The one you're using to post this question, maybe.

If this drive that you have 'accidentally' formatted contains stuff you actually want...you do not want to do this.

The more you write to this drive, the less likely you are to recover anything.
And you can't recover this stuff to the same drive you deleted it from.

Hence my above questions.

So...from this description, I'm thinking D, E, and F are simply other partitions on this same physical 1TB drive?

Can you please clarify that? Is d, e and f partitions or physical drives? So you tried to format C which is one drive and those other 3 disappeared? They were partitions all on one drive? 4 partitions on 1 drive? Irregardless(must use that word once per year) of partitioning or drives Recuva can still recover your data.

Do you simply need to assign drive letters? I am a bit fused.

No I have to install the windows first.Should i install the windows do my partition and then use your software ???

What are you using right now? Loading an OS will overwrite data. That I believe is the last thing that you want.

2. Do you have another drive, that you can wipe out completely, to temporarily put an OS on it?
That is your best solution.

No, again, do not install anything on this hard drive. This is a bit like asking us how to fix your car's engine without you having to stop the car. Every time you use this hard drive, the odds of you recovering anything get longer.

Your best chance to recover any of your data is to install Windows on a second hard drive, install EaseUs/Recuva on your second hard drive, run it and try to recover from the first hard drive. You can also put the hard drive in a USB enclosure to easily run EaseUs/Recuva on a different PC.[strike][/strike]

There's also no guarantee you will in fact recover anything. The only way to protect your data is to back it up *before* you lose it. Consider it a basic part of maintenance; changing your car's oil or your furnace's filter is a lot less effective *after* they've already broken down.
