Hi, I recently upgraded from an AMD 860K to an Intel 6700k. I got the K model for a reason. I want to overclock. This is my first foray into Intel, as well as my first into Asus motherboards (I have a Z170-AR.) On my previous Gigabyte mobo, the clock ratio setting was right there on the splash screen. I changed the ratio and, voila! overclocked. This is not the case with my new set up, however. After a good while of poking around in the BIOS I was able to-I think-change the clock ratio. In the BIOS it displays text saying "Target CPU Frequency: 4400Mhz." But when I go into say, task manager, in my OS, it displays a maximum CPU clock of 4.01Ghz. The CPU also does not run over 4ghz.
I'm definitely doing something wrong, but what is it?
Thanks for all help in advance.
