Why no input signal????

I've went and goofed up my computer. I was replacing the stock heatsink on fx8350 cpu with a cooler Master hyper 212 evo. I removed the ram to get the fan on. I just put a small pea size of thermal paste in middle first go around. When I threw everything back in monitor says no input signal? So I started taking ram sticks out and swapping them but to no effect. So I took cpu cooler back off, cleaned both surfaces then put just a little paste on and spread it out this time. Still no input signal?!?! Did I hit something with static and fry it? Any input would be appreciated... see what I did there
