I have a biostar h81mhv3 motherboard, the 2nd ram slot used to work with the first ram slot occupied by a kingston 4gb 1600mhz ram module. whilst the second one occupied by a 2x1 kingston 2gb 1333mhz ram module. so i bought another stick of ram another 4gb 1600mhz ram module, and the pc would turn on and off after a few seconds. even if i install the old ram module, it would boot up fine with 1 ram slot occupied

btw, i removed the cmos battery and jumping the headers to reset bios settings, still no chance
