Hello,
Currently i have this rig: and i dont have a ton of cash so please advise anything that performs like 100% better than what i have as of now.

i5 2500
dh65cl
8gb dominator platinum
600watt psu
gtx780ti
<updated> ssd and storage devices are connected via sata6 port internal
I need to know which upgrade would suit me for the following workload:

  • simultaneously running 30gb -1080p videos on 2 monitors
converting 1080p video files aprox 10gb into other formats
managing around 20TB storage for file retrieval
gaming 30-40fps is enough at 1080p
extraction of 10gb apx files win rar, uploading 10gb file, downloading 10gb file and playing a 1080p video at the same time

  • computer needs to be on 24/7

Cheapest: Maybe upgrade to an i7 2600k, new cooler, then and overclock it; in addition to looking into an SSD scratch disk for your encoding work. It sounds like you already have separate source and destination drives for your workflow.

Not Cheap: New x99 or Z270 motherbd, new i7, new ddr4, GTX1070, SSD boot & applications drive, SSD scratch drive...

How do you connect to your storage drives?
