Hello!

I am a first time builder, and am interested in building a budget rig for gaming primarily with some Have really appreciated all of the articles and forum posts on tom's - has been my primary source for guidance on this build.

My goals/parameters are:
Budget: $800 before tax/shipping
Use: Gaming (WoW primarily) +/- large data set analysis
Other:

  • Potential for future upgrades (i.e. 2nd GPU, more memory)
Not too complex to build space-wise
I have no interest in overclocking
My major questions are probably pretty standard:
1. Any glaring issues with this build - particularly any incompatibilities?
2. Any more-budget-friendly equivalencies in parts? In particular I'm wondering about the PSU, CPU cooler, and case. I want a case that isn't flimsy and has space for me to do dumb things :)

This all comes in at $810 before tax/shipping. I have enough wiggle room that the $10 isn't going to break the bank.

Thank you all in advance for any help!

And thanks logainofhades for those alternate builds...I found a ridiculously good deal on the MSI Radeon 480 on NewEgg so I'm gonna roll with that knowing that I have a mobo that is crossfire capable (which your more budget mobo does, so its perfect)

Will think about those cheaper cases for sure...I figured mine might not be worth the increased $$.

Thanks for the time and the help!

WoW favors Nvidia, over AMD. If you really want an SSD.
