Hi,

I wanted to ask if getting the GeForce gtx 780 ti was worth it in 2017? I wanted to know when the driver support would run out- maybe three more years? The card is £140 ($175), which is a bargain because the 1050 Ti is more expensive! From what I have seen, the card performs slightly better than the gtx 1060 3gb version:

but ive seen articles that NVidia is downgrading 7 series through driver updates? I will only be gaming at 1080p and my monitor is only 74Hz, so as long as I run todays demanding games (BF1,4, GTA V, C.O.D Ghosts) above constant 70fps at epic or max even, im happy. Also, is this mouse good?

Thanks for help

Solution
That 3GB of VRAM is gona hurt you, but if you keep AA down, you should be able to play ultra 1080P without a problem. $175 isn't too bad.

Though, I'd get a gtx 1060 or RX 480 for a little more instead.

The GTX 780Ti is still a worthy GPU to game with. And with your 1080p monitor you will be fine. As far as that mouse, here's a review site you can read up on.

I've heard you can cap VRAM if you don't have a lot? Does anyone know how to do this, and if so, please can you explain. It is a 384 bit card and the memory is really fast so I would have thought aftee capping the vram, the card should run at least epic at 1080p70. The mouse review was very helpful, thanks.

Hi, I know its been a while since posting, but I want to ask something. Im getting a r9 290 for £90, which is a steal. I know that nvidias optimisation for kepler is poor, to say the least, so im ditching the 780 ti and going for the r9 290. I want to do some overclocking and get it as good as the r9 390. The reference cooler goes up to 90 degrees Celsius without overclocking though so i am a bit :/ However, it does have 4gb VRAM. Will that be enough for 1080p60 max in games like BF4? I also know that the 290 has better DX12 support, so im happy. I wanted to ask how long do you guys reckon it will be before AMD stops optimising the r9 290s and stops updating drivers? Thanks
