Hi all.
I am trying to choose between the two:
Kit 1: https://www.gskill.com/en/product/f3-19200cl10q-32gbzhd
Kit 2: https://www.gskill.com/en/product/f3-2400c11q-32gxm
Basically the difference between the two is that the Kit 1 is CL10 and Kit 2 is CL11. Also, Kit 1 comes with a Ram cooler.
My issue is this: Do i have to use the cooler? Or is it included in case i need to overclock? I know that overclocking ram is not encouraged from the companies that manufacture them. So i am guessing that since it is CL10 compared to the traditional 2400Mhz CL11 kits, this might heat up the ram. Anyone that owns the 1st kit can confirm whether the cooler is necessary? I don't want to use it, so i'd rather select the 2nd kit if i have to.
Specs:
Mobo: Asus Maximus VII Ranger (Z97)
CPU: i7-4790k (stock)
SSD 512GB
Ram: Kingston HyperX Savage 16GB (2x8GB) 1866Mhz
GPU's: 2 x 1070 (FE) (stock)
These ram are included in the mobo's QVL list.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Jo.
