Need a 3-5 terabyte backup drive for PC and laptop

Hello,

I am looking for the best 3-5 terabyte (preferably 4 terabytes) external hard drive. What should I look for when buying one? Also, is usb 3.1 worth it for these or should I get usb 3.0? Got any suggestions? I appreciate any suggestions and tips and info.

Also, if you have a suggestion for the best external hard drive, could you link it to either US Amazon or PCPartPicker? Thanks.

Visit a couple of business-oriented computer stores and see what they have in stock; talk with them, get their ideas; mull everything over, then search Amazon and places. Also, buy two of those HDs, do dual OS partition backups and do a few data partition backups onto both external medias. Reason: sometimes one HD but not very often two HDs will develop a logical error which can be fixed by a format [and the backup files go away from a format].
