Okay so I have been looking into building a pc ever since my laptop quit running the games I enjoyed playing. Since then I have been reading articles and trying to put together the perfect part list for my budget which is $1000. So ever since I learned about Crossfire/SLI I have been set on getting one mid-range gpu that can comfortably run the games I want now and then putting another later to possibly dabble in 1440p/4k gaming down the road. So I am aware of the pros/cons of having multiple gpu's and am pretty set on it. Now there are some parts I am not totally confident in buying. First the motherboard. I have no intentions of overclocking (hence the processor) so I chose the ASUS ROG Strix mainly to match my gpu. The only concern I have is it only supports ddr4-2133 RAM. My question is how much of an FPS boost will higher ram speed permit. Secondly, I know the typical gaming pc build today shoots for having 16gb of ram but I only have 8 right now and plan to put another single 8gb stick in later. Will only having 8gb of ram massively effect my fps? Also I know that my SSD is under the usual 250gb but I plan to only have my OS on it. Thanks for your responses. <3

You asked, "Will only having 8gb of ram massively effect my fps?".

I don't know about that, but adding extra memory to existing memory is not guaranteed to work and may cause the memory to be unable to operate at rated specifications.

Motherboard Specs for memory:
4 x DIMM, Max. 64GB, DDR4 2400/2133 MHz Non-ECC, Un-buffered Memory
Dual Channel Memory Architecture

DDR4 2400MHz memory frequency is only supported by 7th Generation Intel processors. (i5-7500 is 7th Generation)

Ah, I see that the motherboard supports 2400MHz so I will change that. Is it possible for you to link me to an article to support your statement that adding more RAM in the future is not guaranteed to run at labeled specs? Thanks for your response!
