I have 2 sticks of 4gb gskill ddr3 1600 memory in my computer and I want to know if i can add 2 2gb sticks of gskill ddr3 1600 memory, both have the same voltage of 1.35v, but they have different timing and back plates (if that even matters). The two 4gb sticks are ripjaw with a blue back plate and i believe the timing is 9-9-9-24 and the 2 2gb sticks just have a grey back plate and say gskill in silver with some sort of design next to the name, and I believe their timing is 7-8-7-24.

My computer specs:
P8Z68-V LE motherboard
i5 2500k
rx 480 4gb
2x4gb ddr3 ram
antec 430w psu
1tb wd blue hdd
some old antec case
windows 7 pro

Solution
Even if they do work together you will lose the benefit of dual channel RAM access. Dual channel access only works when all of the modules are the same. Each module has a 64 bit wide data bus. In effect, the dual channel mode makes accessing RAM twice as fast by appearing to the RAM controller as a 128 bit wide data bus. Using different modules will cause the system to use 64 bit single channel access for all modules.
