Monitor does not work

When i put my graphics card, which is geforce 8400gs (pcei) 512mb, my monitor does not show anything, when i remove it my pc works well, and when i put graphics card while pc on my display turns black.

My system configuration is 2gb ram, 2.87ghz processor.
Is there any solution to fix my problem.
Please reply as soon as possible

I don't know which MB you have but it's usually "Del" button or F1 or F2 key while turning computer on. Get a manual for your MB, it should be right in there.

Never, ever insert or remove any part when computer is even plugged in, let alone while it's running. If graphic card is not dead by now it will be.
When you put that GPU in did you plug monitor in it ? Did you enter BIOS and turned of IGPU or at least make PCIe primary display ?

1.Yes i. Connect monitor to gpu through vga cable
2.if i put graphics card then cpu runs but monitor goes blank.
3.if I place graphics card in cpu and connect monitor with cpu through vga cable it also shows blank.
4.how to enter bios and turned of IGPU?
5.how to make PCIe primary display.
