Potential Upgrade
I am thinking of upgrading my second system to be as good or better as my current system, but not sure if I should just make a whole new system itself or just upgrade what I need. The main reason why I wanted to upgrade I had this particular desktop for maybe 7 years. Not to mention I’ve been having some serious issues with the motherboard itself the past few years like one of the middle ram slots are not reading memory/the gigabyte motherboard has this loud static beep when the CPU is turbo boost mode (when the computer isn't underloaded). The List could go on. So, I don’t want to get burnt by a bad motherboard again, so much so I haven’t touched a gigabyte product in a long long time. My old system specs will be in the additional info section below.

Changes made
CPU cooler: Hyper 212 EVO -> Be Quiet! Dark Rock Pro 3
MoBo: MSI Z270 Gaming Pro Carbon -> MSI Z270 Gaming M5
RAM: 2x 4GB (8GB) 3866 Mhz -> 2x 8GB (16GB) 3000 Mhz
PSU: EVGA SuperNOVA G3 (750W) -> Seasonic PRIME 650 (650W)

Reasons why
CPU cooler: i7-7700K is a hot CPU and Hyper 212 EVO just isn't enough to cool it down. So, put in one of the best big air coolers, a Be Quiet! Dark Rock Pro 3.

Note: CPU cooler is 163mm tall, your case has CPU cooler clearance of 173.1mm. RAM is 31mm tall and CPU cooler has RAM clearance of 40mm. Install the RAM before installing CPU cooler. It's easier this way.

MoBo: Decided to give you a bit better MoBo to use in your system.
Review: http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/msi-z270-gaming-m5-intel-kaby-lake-atx-motherboard,4873.html
Feel free to switch your MoBo back to Gaming Pro Carbon and save $25 if you like.

RAM: At the same price, you can have double the RAM but with a little bit less speed. So, put in Corsair RAM. Using faster RAM than 3000 Mhz may cause compatibility issues with CPU though.

PSU: 750W PSU is a bit much for your system, so put in the best 650W PSU that money can buy at current date, a Seasonic PRIME 650. (My Skylake build is also powered by PRIME 650, full specs in my sig.)
Review: http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/seasonic-prime-titanium-650w-psu,4690.html
If you don't want to pay top dollar for the best 650W PSU (80+ Titanium) then feel free to go with cheaper EVGA SuperNOVA G3 650W (80+ Gold) unit and save $49,

Note: Since i don't know which GTX 1080 you have, i put Founders Edition in but marked it purchased as i did with other components you already have.

Thanks for the reply, my only conern is I never use that particular PSU before but it seems to be highly reviewed so I am willing to give it a try. Also, would 650W be enough for a system like this? 1080 and the i7 cpu combine I thought would draw more power requiring maybe 750W. I fear to be close to the cap of 650W restricting to me to add anymore things in the future.
