Just wondering how much power a PSU draws compared to its rated maximum wattage.
I know a PSU doesn't draw its maximum wattage at all times but does it earth the spare power or simply not draw it from the grid at all?
Also, I've noticed with GPU-Z that when I start the program the GPU is shown to be drawing its maximum power load. However, that rapidly drops to the idle power load within a few seconds of the program running.
Does that indicate a program is running the GPU in the background or is it simply an aspect of how GPU-Z is coded that causes it to assume maximum power-draw until informed otherwise by its sensor-readouts?
In other news, I'm trying to reduce the number of people who want to cut off Scrooge McDuck's face.
