I am using the Asus z270-a prime MB but my USB 3.0 ports seem not to be recognizing any devices(except my keyboard and mouse) and my case doesn't have USB 2.0 ports. Before that i have installed windows 8.1 and there was no problem at all.I tried inserting the driver disc that came with the MB but absolutely nothing happened.I don't have internet.

double click on the cd rom icon in my computer and some windows will show up containing some folders. enter each folders and search for setup.exe. run each one until you ran all of them. your chipset and ime driver is the specific ones you are looking for.

Yes but there is the problem... i have installed windows 8 with all the drivers and everyting worked properly. Now i am stuck in Win 7 with no drivers and a weird "Windows.old" folder. The disc drive isn't recognized by windows. I can hear the disc spinning but nothing shows up on the screen.

I run into the same problem with gigabyte z97 udh4. If I remember correctly my mouse and keyboard is stuck at choose your background color. I think I gave up and installed windows 8.
have you tried to use different port such as the ones in the back?
