Installed a new CPU, but games run poorly or not at all.

To be specific, I recently had an AMD FX (tm)-9590 Eight-Core Processor installed in my desktop gaming computer.

Since it's installation, it runs some games though they stagger and often freeze up between frames, though the frame rate maintains a consistent 60fps up to and even on the frozen frame - I'm often forced to forcefully start the task manager, and oftentimes my monitor will simple go black and I'll have to perform a cold boot.
In many of these instances, my network adapter stops working and only a reset will get it working again.
On more than one occasion, my keyboard and mouse have failed to register with the system following the cold boot as well.

None of these were problems I had with my old processor.

I'm a complete loss with computers, so step-by-step directions would be most appreciated.

My system setup is as follows...

• AMD FX (tm)-9590 Eight-Core Processor 4.72ghz
• 16.0gb of RAM
• 64bit OS, x64based processor
• Windows 10

Solution
what was your old processor and did you reinstall your os after you put in the 9590?
yes we do need to know about your motherboard, psu and cooler brand and model.
I own the same cpu and some coolers cannot dissipate the rated 220 watts tdp. e.g. only the d14 and d15 from noctua will work for 220 watts and only specific motherboard will work with 9590. you need google your motherboard and under cpu compatibility list you need to find 9590 in there. Otherwise it will not work. We ask about the psu because maybe the wattage (amperage on that line) is not enough.
