Sound Recorder for XP Media Center

Looking for sound recording app for XP. I use Audio Recorder in Linux Mint. I can record anything coming out of the speakers, or into the mic. I use it for band practice. Audacity is too complex for something on the fly. We just use it to record new songs so band members can take a recording home to learn and practice new material. Not looking for studio quality. I dont see anything in XP media center to record with.

On my ancient laptop, "Sound Recorder" app is in Program -> Accessories -> Entertainment. You might have to add it thru Control Panel | Add or Remove Programs | Add/Remove Windows Components. You might need your installation media for that.

Laptop' microphone is the worst device to use for band recording, though.

The built in mic's on my Dell Inspiron 1520 do an amazing job recording live band session. Of course there is always better. How much do you want to spend? The way Keith Richards puts it is that you are recording the room, not the individual instruments.
