Hi there,
I am the owner of a small activity (a coffe shop) and I'd like to offer my customers the chanche to have free wi-fi.
Currently I have just a router with the acces through password; I'd like to offer them the same but, instead of typing the password, just like/check in through my facebook page.
I saw different devices from the Facebook Help page but, it seems not be updated anymore and the devices discontinued.
Any clue about that?

Really thanks!

Solution
Not going to be simple. The password is easy it is part of the encryption included with any router. There is even a advanced enterprise version where each person gets their own id and password using a external radius server. Both these are included in every router.

What you want is called a captive portal. It is not a function that most routers have and you will need a external server also. In addition you will have to have something custom written to use facebook. Most the captive portal software you can get is for things like hotels.

It is not so much a cost thing you can load third party firmware on routers and you can get free captive portal software. The only expensive thing would be the custom software to integrate facebook unless you can write it yourself. There are captive portal software that are open source so it is technically possible to change them how ever you want.
