Is it possible? If not, how to solve it? So far I know, since 802.11ac is the newest should be able to connect with any older IEEE (802.11an for an example), but I need to confirm first.

My 802.11ac station is UBNT Rocket 5-AC PRISM (Link: https://www.ubnt.com/airmax/rocket5ac-prism/ ).
My 802.11a/n router is Altai 2a-Ei (Link: http://www.powertec.com.au/altai-a2ei-wifi-access-point-bridge-repeater-2-4-5ghz) .

From what I see:-
- Rocket 5-AC PRISM has 10/20/30/40 (10,30 or 20/40 mode) as Station-PtMP, 10/20/30/40/50/60/80 (10,30,50,60 or 20/40/80 mode) as Station-PtP.
- Altai 2a-Ei has only 20/40 (20,40 or 20/40 mode as AP-PtP/PtMP)

So it will works then? That's mean:

- 802.11ac client able to connect to 802.11an AP/router, but the client wont get enough speed as ac-standard
- 802.11an client able to connect to 802.11ac AP/router, but the client wont get enough speed as AP/router ac-standards.

summary, either one both of them still able to connect, just the matter of speed only?

That is correct they will work to the speed of the lowest denominator (an)
