Computer stops randomly and displays vertical lines and loops sound.

As the title says my computer will randomly stop and display vertical lines as well as loop a loud buzzing type noise. I've updated my display drivers as well as windows (7). On BlueScreenViewer it says that it was caused by ntoskrnl.exe. I'm beginning to feel like this is my graphics card starting to fail. If anyone has any advice it would be much appreciated.

Listing your system specs would help, including power supply brand and model.

Have you tested the video card in another computer or another one in yours if you think it's the video card? No way to know if you don't test it.

either you're correct, the cord from the monitor to the graphics card needs to be replaced(yes it can happen, happened to me little bit ago.) ,or the monitor needs to be fixed/replaced
