Hello. I'm on a tight budget and trying to find a laptop that will be able to run some newer games on low/medium. The ddr5 gt950m comes somewhat close to the 960, but i wonder if the dual core i7 will ruin the rig. A quad core i5 and a ddr5 version comes just above my price range and it seems that those are my choices now.
i7 7500u gt950m 4gb ddr5 or i5 6300hq and gt950m 4gb ddr3

I'd go with the i7 7500u gt950m 4gb ddr5 as a gaming computer, as dual cores have still been shown to perform phenomenally for the price, and because ddr5 has been known to have massive leaps in performance, and bandwidth over ddr3.
