i have this power supply and i wish to upgrade the gpu from a gtx 760 to a 1060 6gb , the issue is that the 1060 uses 1 8 pin connector and my 760 uses 2 6 pin connectors can i use a Athena Power PCI Express 6-pin to 2 PCI Express 2.0 8-pin (6+2-pin) Adapter to complete the 8 pin requirement? . According to the manufacturer the card needs 400w psu and mine is 500w can this be viable to do or should i get a new psu (don't want to not enough money unless its absolutely necessary) thanks !

^ to be fair delta IS a reputable brand , that unit is a decent PSU even though it looks cheap .

An adapter from the 6 pins to an 8 pin would he absolutely fine in this case IMO.

8 pin model or not ANY 1060 will draw less power than a 760 - most manufacturers stick the 8 pin connector on there solely to make you think you're buying some extreme overclockable model when in fact the 1060 chipset is locked to 140w maximum anyway.

you are going to need a DUAL 6-pin to SINGLE 8-pin adapter

8-pin is rated at twice the wattage of a 6-pin

Upgrading the psu to a better reputable brand will be a better choice. get any 80 plus rated psu from cooler master, thermaltake, corsair, evga with 8 pin connectors. It will make your system more stable and future proof to some extent ( helping in overclocking, gpu upgrading in future etc) PSU is the component in your pc that is worth spending...
