Hello again, I fear I may have lost a lot of very important data. I used EaseUS Todo Backup to back up a partition on one of my drives. I formatted said drive and proceeded to attempt recovery.

I got an error stating, "Current PreOS cannot boot from EFI motherboard. Please download Windows AIK/ADK to create WinPE."

I'm installing ADK as I type this but I really have no idea what this means or what ADK is.

Does anyone know how I can get my files back? I'm very desperate!!

I do not know how to advise over the internet, not knowing what format [quick or full] was done, and not knowing what recovery attempts done so far.
I think a local computer guru who is well-known for his/her partition recovery & data recovery skills and success might have to help you with this.
I was going to suggest MiniTool's Partition Magic 9.1 and Power Data Recovery, however, I do not know how to walk you through those programs - yet.

It was a quick format. I am currently running seagate's file recovery suite. If I don't find anything I'll need to go to a local guru as you suggested. The backup drive I was recovering from has actually failed this morning from click of death...

If you're interested in an update on the situation, here's the latest thread. http://www.tomshardware.com/answers/id-3371564/click-death-files-back.html

I'm scrambling to find a way to get my data back. Thanks for your response.
