Facebook aquired Whatsapp in 2014 and introduced new terms of use. So Whatsapp now is collecting some data, and somehow connecting with FB.

Here is one of many articles on net about it, in details (and how to turn it off) :

But I do not have option to turn it off ??? And I also read in comments in that link that other people complain about same problem.

Also, I do not understand exactly, to what Whatsapp is connecting? To your Facebook profile, or they mean that data from Whatsapp is sent to Facebook as company? I'm asking because, for example, what if I just do not have FB profile at all? Or if I use 3 different FB profiles on same phone? Or if I have, but not use it on that Android phone where Whatsapp is used? It is easy to get confused there.

What I want to know is how to turn it off (why there is no option for that), and to whom Whatsapp is exactly send collected data. To Facebook as a company? Or it somehow itself associate with Facebook account used at same phone (but than rise question, what if you do not have profile, or you have for example 3 different profiles).

You can't rely on anything you put up on the Net in any way at all as being private.

Following a misguided so-called terrorist attack in London a week ago in which a Police Officer was killed, WhatsApp is coming under pressure to hand over its encryption to the security services for the same kind of analysis as e-mails and SMS messages currently go through to prevent such attacks worldwide.

Anything you don't want to be read or heard by anyone else except you and the recipient, give it to them verbally face to face. The Net is fast becoming an open book.

I do not have any special sensitive data, just want to know about Whatsapp and Facebook sharing data and how to prevent THAT. And how exactly that works.

Ok. Next time I create Whatsapp account I will disable it right from the start (now I do not have that option).

But the second part of my question is still unanswered.
