Right now, I have a Gigabyte R9 380 2GB that I had for a year now, still under warranty. Only recently the rear fan on the card (closest to the back of the case) is starting to die. It makes a ticking sound at 55%-65% fan speed. My temps are great, never going above 65 *C when gaming, and that is on a overclock too (no voltage increase).

Reason why I am having trouble deciding whether to RMA it or not, is because I read a lot of horror stories on people get their cards back damaged, or one story the guy was 8 months without his card.

Would it be worth the risk for me to send it back for them to replace the fan?

Horror stories aside, sometimes they don't have replacement parts available and simply send back an equivalent card, occasionally a newer model. Though I doubt that would be the case for a bad fan.

You might simply try contacting them to see if they can ship you a fan.

Never thought of that, thanks for pointing that out
